From AAA open worlds to pixel-art indie hits, the gaming landscape is vast. When ranking games, look past the graphics to the core gameplay loop and immersion. Use this consensus data to see which titles are defining the generation and which hidden gems deserve more attention.
Prioritize the 'feel' of the game, controls, and core loops.
Evaluate world-building, art style, and sound design.
Consider campaign length, replayability, and technical performance.
This is the community consensus for Video Games – Overall. It is not an editorial list: every position below comes from Top 20 boards submitted by real users.
How it's calculated: each submitted board awards points by position — a #1 pick earns the most, a #20 pick the least. Points for every item are added up across all eligible boards to produce the Consensus Score, and the "boards include this pick" line shows how many submitted boards feature it anywhere in their Top 20.
Why it moves: the consensus is recalculated whenever a board is saved, so a new or updated board can shift the order — especially while the number of contributors is small. Use the Month, Year and All Time filters to see only boards updated in that window.
Reading the numbers: "Score" is the total points an item earned across all boards, and "Votes" is the number of boards that ranked it. A high score with few votes usually means a small group ranked it very highly, while a lower score with many votes means it's widely rated but rarely near the top.
